After 10 years in the big smoke, followed by six months of travelling Steph decided to move to Bristol. Within weeks of moving here she had secured an interview with Nurseline Healthcare. Fast forward five years, Steph is now Registrations & Compliance Director for Nurseline Healthcare and LD Network. This is her story.
After a decade in London working in a range of roles, including Office Manager for a private healthcare organisation, supporting a group of clinicians for an Early Intervention CAMHS team and a Programme Manager for a training company – I decided it was time for a change. I stayed with a friend in Bristol for a month to see if I enjoyed it and two weeks in I saw a job advert that sounded interesting. I went for the interview and luckily got the job! I started with Nurseline Healthcare in 2015 as Registrations & Compliance Manager. There were only two people in the team at the time – it’s now grown to nine!
I currently lead the amazing Registrations and Compliance team which are based across two countries – the UK and Macedonia. We pride ourselves on finding quality staff who are passionate about what they do and share the same values as the whole company.
“I love interviewing new candidates and hearing their stories about why they chose a career in care and exploring the opportunities we can offer. And, every day I look forward to working with every member of the Catalyst Care Group family”
In a nutshell, the role of compliance is about protecting clinicians, clients and ultimately the people that use their services. In 2019 I launched Catalyst Training so the group could offer mandatory training and specialist training courses, enabling clinicians (and external candidates too) to gain new skills or refresh their knowledge, so they can better support individuals across mental health and learning disability services, that we support.
I am particularly proud that we’ve scored highly in compliance audits, achieving certification from respected body, Neuven and in November 2019 we were shortlisted for Best Company To Work For at the IRP Awards, celebrating excellence in recruitment.
“Since moving to Bristol and joining Nurseline, I finally feel like I’ve come home”
As the business has grown into the Catalyst Care Group I have been given many exciting opportunities and projects to grow as a leader and support new areas of the business. It’s knowing the positive impact we are having on people’s lives that drives me to do what I do and why I will continue to support the Catalyst Care Group and clinicians towards the company’s vision of being ‘the most trusted staffing partner’ and great place to work for all by 2025.
Even though things are little bit different right now, you would normally find me attending gigs around Bristol as I love music.
“I always look forward to the summer when I can squeeze in at least one music festival. I also have a passion for travelling and have been lucky enough to have travelled and explored many countries around the world.”
